We’re pleased to announce that Maddy Hill will star in the title role in Imogen, directed by Globe Associate Director Matthew Dunster.

Award-winning actor Maddy Hill is best known for the recurring role of Nancy Carter in EastEnders (BBC), for which she won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2015, and Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards 2014, as well as being nominated for Best Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards 2014. Other film and television credits include The Great Sport Relief Bake Off(BBC), Father Brown (BBC), UWantMeToKillHim?, andWhitechapel (ITV).

Running from 17 September, Imogen is Shakespeare’sCymbeline renamed and reclaimed. Imogen, daughter of King Cymbeline, enrages her father by marrying against his will. But after hearing lies about his wife’s virtue, Imogen’s husband Posthumous decides that she must die. In an urban world that is as strange, erotic and violent as Shakespeare’s ancient Britain, Imogen is forced to re-imagine herself as she fights for the life she deserves and not the one that is being determined for her.
